We understand that some seniors  find it hard to budget for health club membership. That’s why we have created our new off peak Seniors membership!

MONDAY TO FRIDAY    11.30 AM TO 3.30 PM

SATURDAY                    8 AM TO 4 PM

Supervision Times

Our Trainers will be available throughout these times to assist you with your exercise program. Your program may be in the gym, main pool,  hydrotherapy pool or a combination of all 3 areas.

There  are also a range of small group sessions during the off peak times. Sessions include:

Regular Social Functions

One day each month we have an afternoon tea where we provide sandwiches,  with tea and coffee so you can get to know some of the others who come in to Oceana at that time of the day.

We are the only Seniors Friendly club in Hobart – Come and exercise with people your age !

Some interesting facts

  • Without intervention, muscle strength declines with age.
  • Falls are the leading cause of all injury related hospitalisation for people over 65yrs in Australia.
  • Age related muscle decline and the related consequences are a common cause of falls.
  • From the age of 35yrs, women lose up to 1% of their bone mass per year; this loss accelerates rapidly after menopause.

  • Strength training has also been shown to be a much better and safer alternative to medication for Depression.
